Toronto is a city that is constantly buzzing with energy. There is always something happening, whether it be a festival or just people out and about enjoying the city. It is no wonder that it is such a popular destination for photographers.

When it comes to camera equipment, Toronto is home to some of the best stores in the country. So if you are looking for a new full-frame mirrorless camera, need new passport photos, or are visiting from another country and looking to spend your Canadian dollars be sure to continue reading.

Here are our picks for the top camera stores in Toronto.

Vistek

Vistek is one of the largest camera stores in Canada, and it’s easy to see why. They carry a huge selection of camera gear, from entry-level to professional, and their staff is always on hand to offer expert advice.

The Downtown Toronto camera store has 5 floors of equipment including video cameras and video equipment. There is also a very popular rental department attached to the store.

Vistek also hosts a camera industry conference, Profusion Expo every year at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The conference is filled with informed imaging experts and camera industry experts from the Canadian photographic industry.

It has been virtual the past few years due to covid-19, but hopefully next year it will be back to normal.

Why You Should Visit

I would also say that Vistek is the go-to camera store for lighting equipment. They tend to be one of the few stores that carry a lot of stock. Also, for a lot of the supporting equipment like a camera bag, light stand, tripod, and more. They have a very large selection of camera accessories with great prices as well.

B3K Digital

The B3K Digital is another great option for camera shopping in Toronto for over a decade. They offer the highest tier of high-end camera equipment.

If you want a camera that costs as much as a small car, this is the place to get it. They also have rentals available.

Why You Should Visit

B3K is really the only source for really high-end professional equipment like phase one cameras for example. They don’t offer anything else, so if you are more of a hobbyist it is really not for you.

They have helpful staff with an expert skill level in photography gear.

Henry’s

Henry’s has been around forever and is one of the most popular camera stores in Toronto. They carry a wide range of products from top brands, and their staff are experts in helping customers find the right equipment for their needs.

Henry’s has a good range of used equipment as well as new. If you haven’t considered buying used before you definitely should. Especially when it comes to camera equipment.

Why You Should Visit

Henry’s has a bit of everything from pro camera equipment like lenses and bodies to support equipment.

Downtown Camera

Downtown Camera is another great option for camera shopping in Toronto. They offer a wide selection of cameras and accessories, and their knowledgeable staff can help you find the perfect gear for your needs.

Why You Should Visit

They might just have the best used camera equipment in Toronto, never mind Canada. Be sure to check this out if you are looking for great deals and reasonable prices on equipment.

Downtown Camera is really big into serving the film community in Toronto. They still offer traditional film developing and printing. They offer excellent customer service and can make recommendations on the right camera for your needs.

Aden Camera

Aden Camera is a great option for anyone looking for camera gear in Toronto. They carry a wide range of products, from digital cameras to lenses and accessories, and their knowledgeable staff can help you find the perfect gear for your needs.

Why You Should Visit

Go to Aden Camera for advice and one on one customer service. It is a small shop so it is a bit more personalized.

Plan Your Visit

Vistek, Downtown Camera, and Henrys are all pretty close to each other with Downtown and Henry’s basically right beside each other. It’s pretty easy to hit all three in an afternoon. B3K is about a block away from the two, but again, it is really for ordering high-end equipment or rentals.

Aden Camera is a bit further north, but it is not unreasonable to visit all five camera stores in one day.

Conclusion

These are just a few of the best camera stores in Toronto. Whether you’re looking for entry-level gear or professional-grade equipment, you’re sure to find what you need at one of these great stores.

Whether you’re looking for a new camera, some expert advice, or just a good deal on camera gear, these Toronto camera stores have you covered.
