NEW MEXICO

New Mexico is situated in the southwestern United States. It is surrounded by Colorado to the north; Oklahoma and Texas to the east; Mexico to the south; and Arizona to the west.

 

The state capital is Santa Fe and the largest city in New Mexico is Albuquerque with a population of approximately 558,545 people. The total population of New Mexico is approximately 2 million. New Mexico is 314,900 square kilometers in size and is known for its deserts, mountains, forests, and the Rio Grande river. Its climate varies from alpine in the north and east, and arid in the west and south.

CARLSBAD CAVERNS NATIONAL PARK

Carlsbad Caverns National Park was established in 1930 in southeastern New Mexico. It is  189 square kilometers in size and is home to some of the largest caves in the United States – including the Carlsbad Cavern.

WHITE SANDS NATIONAL PARK

White Sands was designated as a national park in 2019. This picturesque area in south-central New Mexico is 590 square kilometers in size and is known for its glittering white gypsum sand dunes.
