Reflections In Nature.

“A rather cloudy and rainy day in the mountains. The clouds almost appeared to moving up the mountains and in to the sky. The added reflections of the lake made a great image” – Robert Lowdon

Banff National Park

It’s easy to be overwhelmed by the vast expanse of beauty when you first arrive in Banff National Park. Imagine over 6,600 square kilometres of pristine blue lakes, majestic mountains, picturesque valleys, ice fields and forests, and you will have a good idea of the views and sensory experiences that will await you. If you are lucky enough to visit this national treasure, you are bound to come away with unforgettable life experiences. I know from my personal experience, that the wilderness areas of this site can quite literally take your breath away. The scenery can be exhilarating and yet also provide a deep sense of serenity.

Banff National Park is best known for the presence of the western portion of the majestic Rocky Mountains, a Unesco World Heritage Site. This National Park has long been coveted by tourists for its ski slopes, hiking trails, ice fields, wildlife and hot springs. Unsurprisingly, artists have spent the last 135 years trying to capture the beauty of this National Park in a variety of art forms.

This photograph, Reflections in Nature provides a good sense of the scale of the spectacular scenery that can be found in Banff National Park. Reflections in Nature also captures the serene beauty that can be found in this awe-inspiring location in southwestern Alberta. The overcast sky, towering mountains, rising fog and contrasting coloured forest, creates a moody romantic atmosphere. Viewing this artwork, you can almost feel the damp air on your skin, hear the gentle rippling of the water and smell the lush pines in the foreground.

The predominate colours in this photograph are grey, white and green. It would look best in a room with a neutral palette or complementary colours found on the walls or furniture.
