UTAH

Utah is situated in the Western United States. It is surrounded by Idaho to the north; Colorado and Wyoming to the east; Arizona to the south; and Nevada to the west. The state capital and largest city of Utah is Salt Lake City, with a population of approximately 200,662.

 

The total population of Utah is 3.2 million people. Utah is 219,887 square kilometers in size and is known for the Rocky Mountains, flat lands, valleys, gorges, deserts, salt beds, and lakes. Its climate generally varies from semi-arid to desert.

ARCHES NATIONAL PARK

Arches National Park was established in 1971 in eastern Utah. It is 310 square kilometers in size and is known for the thousands of sandstone arches that permeate its landscape. The most famous arch is Delicate Arch, that stands 16 meters in height.

BRYCE NATIONAL PARK

Bryce Canyon National Park was established in 1928 in southwestern Utah. This national park of 145 square kilometers is famous for a group of natural massive amphitheaters called Bryce Canyon, and the unusually shaped and multi-coloured hoodoos.

CANYONLANDS NATIONAL PARK

Canyonlands National Park is located in southeastern Utah and was designated as a national park in 1964.  Island in the Sky, the Needles, the Maze and the Colorado Plateau make up the four unique regions of this vast area of 1,336 square kilometers.

CAPITAL REEF NATIONAL PARK

Capitol Reef National Park was designated as a national park in 1971 to preserve its desert landscape. Capitol Reef is 979 square kilometers in size and is located in south-central Utah. It is known for its sandstone cliffs, canyons, monoliths, buttes and the Water pocket Fold formation.

ZION NATIONAL PARK

Zion National Park is 590 square kilometers in size and is located in southwestern Utah. This picturesque park is known for Zion Canyon and its landscape includes mountains, buttes, monoliths, mesas, waterways and sandstone arches.
